In the process of using gear oil pump, the most common situation is the phenomenon of mechanical seal oil leakage, the following is to introduce its reasons and solutions:
A. Leakage through the end face of the rotating ring and the stationary ring. It is the main seal in the mechanical seal device, and also the key to determine the performance and life of the mechanical seal. Therefore, the sealing end face processing requirements are very high, at the same time, in order to keep the necessary lubrication film between the sealing end face, it is necessary to strictly cavity pressure per unit area on the end face, too much pressure, it is not easy to form a stable lubrication film, will accelerate the wear of the end face. In addition, flushing between static and dynamic rings is critical to its life. During the maintenance of pump 53P1 in Pump House no. 5, we found in time that the flushing oil line of the mechanical seal at the load side was blocked. We cleaned the pipeline in time, thus greatly increasing the service life of the mechanical seal. This has also accumulated first-hand maintenance experience for us.
 
B. Through the seal between the rotating ring and the shaft. When the end face is worn, it can only follow the compensation ring along the axial direction to make a little movement, in fact, it is still a relatively static seal. As a result, these leaks are relatively easy to plug. Static sealing elements are most commonly used in rubber 0 ring or PTFE V-ring, and as a compensation ring of rotating ring or static ring auxiliary seal, sometimes with elastic elements function of rubber, PTFE or metal bellows structure. The type 0 ring on the bushing is very important and must be carefully checked during installation. The axle end of 94P2 pump in Pump House No. 1 seeped oil. After inspection, it was found that type 0 ring was broken. We replaced it in time to ensure the safe operation of the pump.
C. Leakage through the gap between the static ring and gland
D. leakage through the gap between the gland and the housing.
